This year has been a busy one for the two founders of Dojo Dex, with them both starting to teach martial arts! Let's have a look at what's been happening this year and what's to come!
Chris's Journey 2025
This year has contained a wide range of different things, from helping instructors to starting his own martial arts club!
Chris has been helping his previous Taekwon-Do instructor and there was a plan to open his own classes as part of the group, but an agreement couldn't be reached. There were disagreements about various issues, so it was agreed that Chris would create his own club. There are so many different ITFs, let alone different styles of Taekwondo and Chris has studied 2 of them over the years, so he decided to try and unify them.

Founded Unity Martial Arts
Chris put his head down and created a syllabus that allowed different styles of Taekwondo (TAGB, ITF, and WTF) to all co-exist in one class environment. When classes were announced, the club grew so fast that within the first 1 month the junior class was full!
Not only is Chris combining Taekwondo, but working with various Grandmasters is also creating a brand new syllabus for Japanese martial arts that will help people learn karate, Judo, Iaido, BoJutsu, and Nunchucks, all in one.
Unity Martial Arts was created with the goal of not directly unifying Taekwondo but to offer an experience that unified us. Just a ripple in an ocean of many different martial arts, Chris will continue to teach martial arts to people to help them explore the vast world of martial arts that exists.
Mikey's Journey 2025
Mikey's martial journey in 2025 was a wide range of learning Taekwondo and different martial arts. By reading more martial arts books and philosophy books, he's become someone who enjoys helping others. When his dad (Chris) said that he was going to found Unity Martial Arts, he jumped at the chance to help. Now he helps teach the Juniors, has a DBS and is doing instructor training courses, ready for when he grades for his 1st Dan black belt in November 2026.
What They're Looking forward to in 2026
- We've agreed on a partnership with a prestigious school and will teach 3 classes a week there
- We have a number of new locations starting in January
- We have 3 competitions in the schedule already, plus our own in-house tournament
- We're about to launch our own app!
- We have a number of assistant instructors doing their training courses and hopefully will have their own classes at some point in the next year(s)
